Onitsha-Ado North England Association, founded in 2018 as a non-profit Charitable Organisation for all Onitsha-Ado indigenous residing in the North of England in the United Kingdom for the purposes of getting to know ourselves, working together in the development of our host communities as well as our hometown.
The motto of the association is oganiru na ifunnaya (which literally means Progress and Love)
Aims
The main aims of the association are to educate and promote our cultural heritage through interaction and integration as well as enhance the educational, civic and general well-being of its members and their host communities.
Objectives
The specific aims of the association include:
- To promote our cultural heritage through cross cultural exchanges and cultural events that promote integration various peoples in our communities.
- To encourage an interest in the history, language and culture of Onitsha-Ado hence strengthens the links between members born or living in the UK and Onitsha-Ado which will promote unity, love and mutual understanding among us
- To advance community development through charitable works, donations, moral support and encouragement to members and their communities in UK and abroad
- To promote excellence and good stewardship through recognition of achievements of our members, their children and others in UK and Nigeria.
- To promote unity and integration through close social associations with members of other Associations
- To promote integration and good citizenship of our members in the UK
- To organise and engage in charitable works in our communities and Nigeria.
